UX Research.

Listen before deciding. Illustration for ux research.

Find out what people need.
See what gets in their way.

UX research investigates the people, tasks, and conditions a digital experience needs to support. We choose methods around a clear research question and turn the findings into practical implications for design and product decisions.

The goal is not to collect opinions until a preferred idea wins. We define what needs to be learned, recruit or identify appropriate participants, and keep observations separate from interpretation. The findings explain what was seen, how broadly it can be applied, and which questions remain open. The scope includes consent and responsible handling of participant material.

Research questions and plan

Define the decisions to inform, what is already known, and which methods are appropriate.

Participant criteria

Identify relevant user characteristics and agreed recruitment or access arrangements.

Interview or session guide

Prepare neutral prompts and tasks that can reveal behavior, context, and uncertainty.

Clear deliverables.
Useful decisions.

Your written scope confirms the depth and final format of the work. These are the components we can bring together for ux research.

  1. 01Research questions and plan

Define the decisions to inform, what is already known, and which methods are appropriate.

  2. 02Participant criteria

Identify relevant user characteristics and agreed recruitment or access arrangements.

  3. 03Interview or session guide

Prepare neutral prompts and tasks that can reveal behavior, context, and uncertainty.

  4. 04Research sessions

Conduct the agreed interviews or usability sessions with appropriate consent and recording arrangements.

  5. 05Evidence synthesis

Organize observations into patterns while preserving exceptions and the limits of the sample.

  6. 06Actionable findings

Deliver design implications, priorities, and open questions with a clear connection to the evidence.

UX Design

UX design shapes how people find information, complete tasks, and move through a website or digital product. We connect user needs, business requirements, structure, flows, and interaction decisions before developing or refining the visual interface.

UX Audits

A UX audit reviews an existing website or product for problems that make important tasks harder. We examine the agreed journeys, document the evidence and reasoning behind each finding, and prioritize practical improvements.

Let’s talk it through

A clear process.
A practical handover.

The approach follows the user needs, content, technical requirements, and agreed scope. Open each step to see what happens and what it produces.

01

Frame the research question.

We identify the decision that needs support and review the evidence already available.

The output

A focused research plan.

02

Prepare participants and sessions.

We agree criteria, recruitment responsibilities, consent, and a session guide.

The output

A ready-to-run research setup.

03

Observe and investigate.

We conduct the sessions and document behavior and explanations without leading participants toward a preferred answer.

The output

Source observations and session notes.

04

Synthesize the implications.

We distinguish patterns, exceptions, and uncertainty and connect the findings to practical choices.

The output

A research findings and recommendations report.

The design in practice.

A team designing an appointment service may assume people choose purely by time. Research might reveal that location, preparation requirements, or uncertainty about cancellation are equally important. The findings should show the evidence and its limits rather than declare a universal rule from a few sessions.

The purpose of the example

To show how ux research can support a decision. Your design depends on the users, content, requirements, and constraints in your own brief.

Agree the brief.
Then make the work.

Methods, participant groups, recruitment, incentives, sessions, analysis depth, and reporting determine the scope. Access to users and handling of sensitive information need agreed responsibilities. Broad market sizing and ongoing analytics programs are separate.

Before we startWhat we agree
The decisionThe audience, offer, question, and boundaries the work needs to address.
The deliverablesDesign and implementation scope, format, review rounds, responsibilities, and handover.
The investmentWritten fees, schedule, dependencies, and any separate third-party or implementation costs.

We confirm the proposal before work begins. You can commission a focused engagement, connect it to a wider plan, or ask about a separately scoped delivery phase.

Useful questions.
Straightforward answers.

What is the difference between UX research and market research?

UX research concentrates on people’s tasks and experiences with a product or service. Market research can examine a broader audience, category, demand, or competitive context.

How many participants do you need?

The number depends on the research question, user groups, method, and desired confidence. We agree an appropriate plan instead of applying one number to every project.

Can you recruit participants?

Recruitment can be included or handled by your team. Criteria, incentives, availability, and privacy arrangements are defined in the scope.

Will you record sessions?

Only with the appropriate consent and agreed handling arrangements. The plan defines access, use, and retention of participant material.

Can research tell us exactly what to build?

It informs decisions by reducing specific uncertainties. Business, technical, and operational constraints still need to be considered alongside the findings.

What do we receive after the research?

The agreed handover includes findings linked to evidence, practical implications, sample limitations, and important questions that remain unanswered.

How do you price this project?

We quote the agreed deliverables, research, complexity, review rounds, and handover or implementation requirements. The proposal identifies the fee, responsibilities, dependencies, and what would require a change of scope.

What should we prepare before we begin?

Bring the business goal, intended users, existing brand and project material, available content, and any platform, budget, or timing constraints. We will identify missing inputs and agree who can approve the work.
